Many people will tell you for free how going in business is the sure way to grow your wealth. Employment as it were should only be looked at as a bridge to the Promised Land. The one thing this people will not tell you is how to run a successful business. Starting of is not easy but it could fairly be. The headache is keeping up with the times and maintaining your customer base or rather growing it. The tips bellow will be very handy in helping you grow your business.

1. Plan for the future.

Start planning for sustainable growth from the start. Think about what you’d like your company to achieve every year in the ideal world and make notes.

2. Fulfill your current customers’ needs.

If you want to be ahead tomorrow, you need to work today. The most important thing for your business at present is to give your customers what they want, when and how they want it, and at the right price. Build yourself a strong and loyal support base and you’re on your way.

3. Reduce your expenses.

If you keep your running expenses down as much as possible, the capital you have will last longer. This means that you’re able to operate longer. Just make sure that you don’t compromise your business or products in the process.

4. Vary your product range.

If you want to grow, you’ll need to expand what you offer your customers. This will help you to attract a larger customer base and increase your income. If your products are unique enough, you could increase sales by exporting to other countries too. Do your research and look for markets that are similar to yours and enter them.

5. Take calculated risks.

There is no reason to rush into anything. Instead, assess the situation and work out how a business deal or transaction is going to improve your business right now. If it’s not worth the investment, move onto the next business opportunity and make sure that it will put you in a better position.

6. Study trends.

The internet brings the world to your fingertips, so find out what people in other countries are doing to see where your industry is heading. This will give you a leg up against your competition.

7. Look for long-term contracts.

This isn’t always feasible, as it depends on the nature of your business. However, if you’re able to tie customers down to multi-year deals, do so. This will guarantee you income for the period, during which time you’ll more than likely improve your products and put customers in a better position too. Don’t worry about taking on too many customers – the more money you have coming in, the bigger you can dream and expand your operations!

When you open a business, it’s for the long haul. And if you’re going to get there, you need to start planning right away to bring in the right customers for the right product and at the right price to make sure that your revenue stream flows like river Nile, never diminishing.

Its east to assume that a high IQ score will iron things out for you in the job market or any other field in life. Reading this aticle from Forbes will change your thinking about that for good.

Albert Einstein’s was estimated at 160, Madonna’s is 140, and John F. Kennedy’s was only 119, but as it turns out, your IQ score pales in comparison with your EQ, MQ, and BQ scores when it comes to predicting your success and professional achievement.

IQ tests are used as an indicator of logical reasoning ability and technical intelligence. A high IQ is often a prerequisite for rising to the top ranks of business today. It is necessary, but it is not adequate to predict executive competence and corporate success. By itself, a high IQ does not guarantee that you will stand out and rise above everyone else.

Research carried out by the Carnegie Institute of Technology shows that 85 percent of your financial success is due to skills in “human engineering,” your personality and ability to communicate, negotiate, and lead. Shockingly, only 15 percent is due to technical knowledge. Additionally, Nobel Prize winning Israeli-American psychologist, Daniel Kahneman, found that people would rather do business with a person they like and trust rather than someone they don’t, even if the likeable person is offering a lower quality product or service at a higher price.

With this in mind, instead of exclusively focusing on your conventional intelligence quotient, you should make an investment in strengthening your EQ (Emotional Intelligence), MQ (Moral Intelligence), and BQ (Body Intelligence). These concepts may be elusive and difficult to measure, but their significance is far greater than IQ.

Emotional Intelligence

EQ is the most well known of the three, and in brief it is about: being aware of your own feelings and those of others, regulating these feelings in yourself and others, using emotions that are appropriate to the situation, self-motivation, and building relationships.

Top Tip for Improvement: First, become aware of your inner dialogue. It helps to keep a journal of what thoughts fill your mind during the day. Stress can be a huge killer of emotional intelligence, so you also need to develop healthy coping techniques that can effectively and quickly reduce stress in a volatile situation.

Moral Intelligence

MQ directly follows EQ as it deals with your integrity, responsibility, sympathy, and forgiveness. The way you treat yourself is the way other people will treat you. Keeping commitments, maintaining your integrity, and being honest are crucial to moral intelligence.

Top Tip for Improvement: Make fewer excuses and take responsibility for your actions. Avoid little white lies. Show sympathy and communicate respect to others. Practice acceptance and show tolerance of other people’s shortcomings. Forgiveness is not just about how we relate to others; it’s also how you relate to and feel about yourself.

Body Intelligence

Lastly, there is your BQ, or body intelligence, which reflects what you know about your body, how you feel about it, and take care of it. Your body is constantly telling you things; are you listening to the signals or ignoring them? Are you eating energy-giving or energy-draining foods on a daily basis? Are you getting enough rest? Do you exercise and take care of your body? It may seem like these matters are unrelated to business performance, but your body intelligence absolutely affects your work because it largely determines your feelings, thoughts, self-confidence, state of mind, and energy level.

Top Tip For Improvement: At least once a day, listen to the messages your body is sending you about your health. Actively monitor these signals instead of going on autopilot. Good nutrition, regular exercise, and adequate rest are all key aspects of having a high BQ. Monitoring your weight, practicing moderation with alcohol, and making sure you have down time can dramatically benefit the functioning of your brain and the way you perform at work.

What You Really Need To Succeed

It doesn’t matter if you did not receive the best academic training from a top university. A person with less education who has fully developed their EQ, MQ, and BQ can be far more successful than a person with an impressive education who falls short in these other categories.

Yes, it is certainly good to be an intelligent, rational thinker and have a high IQ; this is an important asset. But you must realize that it is not enough. Your IQ will help you personally, but EQ, MQ, and BQ will benefit everyone around you as well. If you can master the complexities of these unique and often under-rated forms of intelligence, research tells us you will achieve greater success and be regarded as more professionally competent and capable.

A genuine phone has an identification number known as IMEI which should be 15 digits only. Dial *#06# to check the IMEI number of your phone
Spelling of the model name
Fake phones or china pones as commonly known in Kenya are written with letters that almost spell the real names. The trick usually is replacing of some letters in the name to make the difference unnoticeable. For instance Samsvng, Nokla etc
Internet settings
Fake phones do not accept data or internet settings remotely. Even if they do, they lose them after a while.
Accessing USSD commands
Some phones will also fail to execute USSD commands (these are the ones that start or end with * or #

Have you ever wanted to withdraw money from MPESA very early during the odd hours say 5.00 am or at mid night, only to be disappointed because all MPESA agents have closed for the night?

Or you have left your national identity card at home, and you need to withdraw cash from your MPESA urgently.

I have a solution for you. It has been there for a while now…ATM withdrawal. Pesapoint and Equity bank offer MPESA withdrawal. You can withdraw funds from MPESA by simply locating any Equity, Diamond Trust Bank or Pesapoint ATM near you.

You only need your phone – no national identity card or ATM card. This helps in the case you have lost your national identity card for instance.

ATM Withdrawal Service
ATM withdrawal service is available to M-PESA registered customers and is currently available at PesaPoint, Equity Bank Branches and Diamond Trust Bank ATM’s.

To withdraw cash you will need to follow these instructions:
First on your phone:
Select ‘ATM Withdrawal’ from the M-PESA menu
Enter PesaPoint’s Agent Code (555 555) or Equity Bank Code (286286) or Diamond Trust Code (555 555)
Enter your M-PESA PIN
You will receive an SMS notification from M-PESA with a 6-digit authorization code. (The code expires after 2 hours and you will be expected to initiate the transaction afresh if you need to withdraw money again.)

Then on the ATM:
Select the M-PESA button on the PesaPoint, Equity Bank or Diamond Trust Bank ATM
Select your preferred language
Enter the 6-digit ATM Authorization Code on the ATM keyboard.
Enter your Safaricom mobile number.
Enter the amount you wish to withdraw, press CONTINUE to proceed with transaction.
ATM will dispense your cash and issue you with a receipt. You will also receive an SMS from M-PESA confirming the transaction.

With any technology, things can go wrong. If for instance, your attempt to withdraw the cash is not successful and the money in your MPESA account is deducted, contact the ATM provider immediately. Hold on any slip generated by the ATM so that you can follow up on the refund.

The simplest way they do this is via a test message /sms telling you you have received some money.

A minute later, you will receive a call and the guy on the line will claim to have send you money accidentally and request you to refund.

First thing you need to confirm if that sms came from MPESA and not a number like + 254 72……

Also check your balance first before you”refund” money to anyone via MPESA – Alternatively let anyone who sends you MPESA money by mistake contact Safaricom directly.

If in doubt please ask for a friends opinion and for any fraudulent sms, forward the SMS to Safaricom’s toll free 333 fraud line.
