There are some inexpensive environmental friendly products that can be used for household cleaning instead of more commercial cleaning products:
Baking soda- cleans, deodorizes, softens water and scours
Borax- cleans, deodorizes, disinfects, softens water, cleans painted walls and wax build-up
White vinegar- cuts grease, removes mildew, odours, some stains and wax build-up
100% proof alcohol- in a solution of water is an excellent disinfectant
Cornstarch- can be used to clean windows, polish furniture, shampoo carpets and rugs
Citrus solvent- cleans paint brushes, oil, grease and some stains
Tri-sodium phosphate (TSP) - is toxic if swallowed, but it can be used for challenging tasks, like cleaning drains, that normally require more poisonous chemicals.
